![]() ![]() I see no reason why you shouldn’t be able to just earn your armor through a random drop/token turn-in knock-out system where your first five armor drops are the ones you’re missing, and then things switch back to random like they are now. The other side of the equation, the armor quest, pretty clearly need to die. And as cool as this armor set is, we can’t keep reusing the same ones, and we at least need ornaments or something to go for. There’s even still a huge pool of past IB guns that haven’t been updated if Bungie wanted to draw from there. Obviously the solution to no new loot is…new loot. And if you do want to play, you’re locked into this irritating quest where everyone is just trying to get specific weapon kills rather than focusing on the game itself in any capacity. Zero new weapons, and an armor set you’ve already earned twice over now. Obviously, none of these things have anything to do with “playing the objective” or “winning games.” But you feel like you have to get through this quest as fast as possible for the reason I already mentioned, that you want the full set before you can turn in any of your tokens.Īll of this adds up to an Iron Banner that is just…bad. Or you have entire teams camping heavy all game in the hopes that you can get rockets and spam a Wardcliff Coil multi-kill before you die. ![]() In practice, you have people equipping three shotguns and running around like crazed chickens, tanking their KDAs and entire games just to make sure every kill is a shotgun kill. In theory, you’re supposed to just equip a shotgun or rocket launcher and play like you would normally, picking up a kill or two through natural course of play. When it’s scouts or hand cannons, fine, albeit it’s annoying that these have to be last hits in a 6v6 match where you’re constantly sharing kills with your team, but when things move to shotguns or rockets? That’s a…bad step. The issue is that you have to get kills with specific weapon types. So to reap any real rewards you have to complete this questline on each character, and parts of it are a slog and antithetical to a fun Iron Banner experience. The problem is that you have to wait until you get the entire set before turning in any of your Iron Banner bounties or tokens, because you can’t get new rolls on armor until you have unlocked that piece. The other major issue that players are complaining about with Iron Banner is the current quest step system in order to get the first set of armor. So really, truly, nothing at all to grind for except pinnacle drops during a season where power level has mattered less than ever. I’m not exactly sure how a bow breaks so badly it takes an entire season to fix, but okay. There was supposed to be a new Iron Banner bow with this current session, yet something went wrong with it and it’s now being pushed all the way to season 10. The second part of this loot conversation would be the weapons, if there were any.
